There are a few methods to hide a folder on Windows by renaming it. Here we will see some methods to do so:
Method 1: Rename the folder with a dot at the beginning of the name.
- Right-click on the folder you want to hide.
- Select "Rename" from the context menu.
- Add a dot (".") at the beginning of the folder name.
- Press the Enter key to save the new name.
- The folder will now be hidden from normal view.
Method 2: Rename the folder with an invisible character
- Right-click on the folder you want to hide.
- Select "Rename" from the context menu.
- Press and hold the Alt key on your keyboard.
- Type "0160" using the number pad on your keyboard.
- Release the Alt key.
- Press the Enter key to save the new name.
- The folder will now be hidden from normal view.
Method 3: Rename the folder with a system attribute
- Open Command Prompt by typing "cmd" in the search bar and selecting "Command Prompt" from the results.
- Navigate to the directory containing the folder you want to hide by using the "cd" command.
- Type "attrib +h +s [folder name]" without the quotes, replacing "[folder name]" with the actual name of the folder.
- Press Enter to execute the command.
- The folder will now be hidden from normal view. To unhide the folder, repeat the steps but replace the "+" with a "-" in the command.
